Jaeger LeCoultre-Aston Martin

Engadget reports in on the new Jaeger LeCoultre Chronograph that will unlock the doors on your new Aston Martin DBS. "You know that Aston Martin DBS not sitting in your driveway? Here's the watch to not go with it, the €27,500 (more than $40,000) Jaeger LeCoultre AMVOX2 DBS Transponder. First spotted last year, the Swiss timepiece capable of locking and unlocking the DBS from a distance of 10-meters has had a rough time making the transponder reliable due to the mechanical watch's impact on electrical fields -- a Faraday Cage of sorts"

Number (N)ine

With fall already in stores its time to start thinking about picking up some winter pieces for those cold days which we are all oh so looking forward to. Number (N)ine has released a few items from the collection.

Although the flannel and plaid thing has become a 'hip' trend especially in buffalo check , this hat is pretty cool.

The Khaki belted tweed jacket. The collar and lapels lead to an invisible button down front. A breast pocket sits to the left. Pockets sit below the thread through belt that sits high on the waist.
86% Wool 10% Mohair 4% Silk

Jacket about $1600

Hat about $360

Levi's Vintage

Levi's is releasing a 'Vintage' line and one of the pieces i saw that caught my eye was this 1920's mackinaw wool coat in dark green check. A replica of a rancher coat Levi's produced in 1912.

Thigh length, 3 button double breasted with belt and high fastening neck for when collar is worn 'stood up'. It also has a button-fastening, patch chest pocket and 2 fully lined, flapped lower pockets. Unusual turn-up cuff detail.

about $650.00

Stores to check out : STOCK

Although it's been a long time inspiration spot for designers like Tom Ford and Ralph Lauren for years, Stock is probably a place most of you have not heard of.

Owner Melissa Howard is rumored to be a pretty savy vintage 'expert'.
With sneakers from the 1920s, WWII-era dungarees or just a plain old (very hip these days) fedora.
There's almost nothing after 1970.

Even if what your looking for is not in the actual store it just might be in storage. Leave a phone number and they will contact you once they've located what your looking for

 Stock, 143 E. 13th St (between 3rd and 4th)

When you think of Barbour you think of its waxed-cotton jackets but this fall it's introducing a few wool outerwear pieces the Hardy long peacoat ($469), the Hardy short peacoat, and the Thompson trench. Part of Barbour's heritage lines all in slimmer fits. These latest are nautically themed and as you'd expect, water-resistant.

The Hanger Project

If there is one thing i don't like seeing in my friends closets besides some of the clothing its plastic or wired hangers, "The Hanger Project" is here to save you.

"The Best Hangers For The Best Clothes"

The aim of the Hanger Project was simple: collaborate with those who engage in dressing well to design a hanger of both superior style and function. A hanger as beautiful as it is functional. Born from the frustration of collapsed shoulders caused by narrow, plastic hangers, the Hanger Project sought to deliberately design from scratch the ultimate hanger--the best hanger for the best clothes.

What man of style wouldn’t jump at an opportunity to retire cardboard and plastic hangers with hangers that are not only beautiful but protect and prolong the life of his wardrobe? Attention to the “look” and “feel”—or, collectively, the hanger’s presence—was just as fundamental to the Hanger Project as design innovation.

All hangers are constructed from the finest solid maple wood available and finished with apremium “bubinga” stain. Maple wood is characterized by its beautiful, decorative wood grain, which is only enhanced by the hanger’s finish. These hangers will dignify your closet.

How to carry an umbrella

Its been raining often here in New York the past few weeks and with Falls rainy season around the corner and summer dwindling down (not to depress anyone)  makes me want to write about umbrellas.
We can assume that there are plenty bad habits out there, the trick is to teach yourself something new every day.

Carrying an umbrella is a little misleading due to the structure after all, they put crooked handles on the end right? But that's not how an umbrella is to be carried.

The correct way illustrated by our man with the lord's hat, is to grasp it by the middle with the handle pointing to the rear.

 And there you have it.
